The International Competition for Young Fashion Designers “Habitus Baltija” is the event included in the programme of the Riga 2014 Culture Capital of Europe.

Each year, two European cities receive the status of Culture Capital of Europe. In 2014, Riga and the Swedish city of Umeå will become Culture Capitals of Europe.

The main slogan of the programme of culture events in Riga in 2014 will be “Force Majeure”. The events will be grouped along six thematic lines created with the participation of the people of Riga themselves. Each of the six thematic lines will have 20 to 30 events. In 2014, Riga will also host the World Choir Games with the participation of 90 choirs from all over the world.
