“This year’s special highlight is the diverse range of equipment and sections with professional cosmetic products, which reflects the continued growth of the Latvian beauty industry. We have also significantly expanded the event programme. Permanent makeup competition is making its comeback after a longer absence, and for the first time ever there will be conference for hairdressers specialising in colouring procedures and barbers,” Kristīne Čerņavska, Director of Baltic Beauty, underlines.
Vast exhibit
World of Beautiful Hair and World of Beautiful Face and Body, the two sections of Baltic Beauty, will showcase the newest and cutting-edge consumer and professional beauty products and services from more than 320 companies representing 16 countries. Exhibitors include well-known Latvian brands like GMT, Labrains, Silvanols, Kermen, various influencer brands, such as Spike, One: Zero, and popular cosmetic brands from abroad, which have decided to enter the Latvian market. Range of products exhibited at the Baltic Beauty 2024 is extended with Jewellery World, a section for jewellery and accessories. Trade fair caters to all groups of visitors – professionals who are trying to stay on top of current and emerging trends and regular customers looking for innovative products and services, as well as good deals and specialist consultations.
International conferences
Baltic Beauty 2024 will offer six valuable beauty industry conferences with insights into best practices and current trends from internationally-acclaimed experts and practitioners. New technologies in modern aesthetic cosmetics: beauty industry applications, organised by Latvian Association of Beauticians and Cosmetologists (LKKA), will take place on 1 November, and Tuča’s Baltic Lash & Brow Conference is another conference that will take place on the first day of the trade fair.
On 2 November, Latvian Medical Association’s conference Beautiful at all ages: dos and don’ts will explore how alcohol and nutrition influences skin, long-term beauty and health benefits of good sleep, importance of vitamin C in various metabolic processes, microbiome and ageing.
For the first time in the history of Baltic Beauty there will be two hairstyling-specific conferences - Baltic Barber conference. Inside Barbershop on 2 November, which will focus on auxiliary Barbershop services, marketing, upskilling as a way to build successful barbering career, role of ambassadors in modern business environment and many other topics. Experience stories from exceptional masters of this craft: Artem Komornyi (Ukraine), Sergey Mandziuk (Lithuania), Dāvids Trukšāns (Latvia), Peter Stolze (Germany) and others. Conference will be moderated by the exceptional hairstylist from Liepāja Raitis Reteris. If you are a male hairdresser, you have got to be there! Colouring conference for hairdressers is the other highly-creative and informative conference that will take place on 2 November, offering discussions on financial and business models, excellence and professionals tips and tricks. Conference will be moderated by Natālija Rivoņenko, the creative director of Style Academy Create in Riga.
And last but not least, the ‘cherry on the cake’ – Wedding style, international conference/show organised by Unastyle Image School & Studio, which will add to the diverse conference programme on 2 November. Stylists from Latvia and other countries will share their bride hairstyling and makeup experience. For instance, Una Bernatoviča who is a famous Latvian stylist, will tell and use a model to demonstrate how to create a bride’s look for 60+ women, whereas Felix Shtein from Israel will share his secrets behind creative bride’s look.
International Hairstyling Festival
In its 30th anniversary year, the International Hairstyling Festival is coming with especially rich agenda. Conferences are complemented by series of hairstyling classes and workshops with leading Latvian and international hairstylists. For example, popular Lithuanian hairstyling experts Zana Muravjova and Viktorija Kuhta Malina will share secrets of efficient hair straightening and reconstruction. There will be six masterclasses for women’s hairdressers, including Tamāra Kaņuka, Kristaps Lācis and Daiga Poriete. On 2 November, famous Latvian hairdresser Inese Alšāne will show participants how her Silk Touch women’s hairstyling collection is made. Dania Bredtmann, the exceptional German hairstylist, and Marina Lāce, her Latvian colleague, will reveal the magic of various shades of beautiful blonde hair and easy-to-use and apply techniques for colouring and bleaching on 3 November. And Stani Avezov, the wonderful trainer and expert from Wahl (Germany), will demonstrate how to achieve the hottest hair arrangements right before everyone’s eyes.
Thrilling competitions
Baltic Beauty 2024 combines over 40 professional beauty industry competitions during which young talented stylists and seasoned veterans put all their skills, agility and imagination to work to win. Baltic PMU championship is this year’s special highlight as the permanent makeup competition returns to Ķīpsala on 1 November after a 10 year absence. Meanwhile, lash and brow stylists will compete at the Baltic Lash & Brow Championship on 2 November.
Latvian Global Nail Cup 2024 will follow in the footsteps of last year’s roaring success when manicure competition returned to Ķīpsala. More than 200 nail stylists will display their professional skills on 1-2 November in the following categories: Manicure with Red-Gelpolish, Manicure with design, Salon modelling (pink and white), Gradient and Aerography.
Hairstyling competitions, requiring stylists to show their original fashion sense and create modern overall look, unusual trim or arrangement, delicate bride’s do or fantasy hair, will have more than 20 different categories. Open Hairstyling School Cup, which has been attracting growing number of future hairstyling professionals from Lithuania and Estonia, will also be part of this year’s Baltic Beauty. Contestants can still register in their preferred categories.
For the third year running, on 3 November, Baltic Best Barber Championship will bring together the best barbers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and other countries to compete for the title of the best BUZZ CUT, SIDEPART and CROP.
On Sunday, throughout the whole day there will be three exciting and wonderful-to-watch competitions: Creative Makeup, Full Fashion Look and Red Carpet. Makeup, styling and hair artists from Latvia and abroad will exhibit their talent in the limelight for everyone who appreciates the craft.
Informative discussions
On 2 November, at 12:00, Baltic Beauty Open Stage will become the venue for an illuminating discussion “From modern beauty fads to health problems in future” where cosmetic physicians and therapists Dr Irēna Kermen and Dr Inga Groskopa, beautician and cosmetologist, author of facial massage course Ieva Neļķe, certified fitness coach, professor of Riga Stradiņš University and SPA SCHOOL Kristiana Jansone, certified nutritionist, Turība University Nutrition Study Programme director Guna Bīlande and business lady and influencer Kristina Andža (One:Zero) will share their expertise and answer audience questions. Discussion is organised by Latvian Association of Beauticians and Cosmetologists (LKKA). Everyone’s welcome.
