New products, meaningful events and huge professional turnout – Baltic Beauty 2024 dazzles again!

The largest Baltic beauty industry celebration, the Baltic Beauty 2024 trade fair, took place at the Ķīpsala International Expo Centre in November. Spanning over two pavilions – the World of Beautiful Hair and the World of Beautiful Face and Body – trade fair welcomed 340 companies and their newest products from 17 countries.

“Those were spectacular three days, full of excitement, intensity and sincere emotions! We received positive feedback about the content and organisational level of the trade fair that will definitely keep us going. This year we had the largest ever number of contestants taking part in various competitions. We have already started preparations for the next exhibition, which will mark the 20th anniversary of Baltic Beauty. Anniversary fair will offer lots of novelties and surprises as a true celebration should, ” Kristīne Čerņavska, Director of Baltic Beauty, underlines.

Beauty festival in Ķīpsala attracted 29,532 visitors, including 15,258 professional visitors. Most Baltic Beauty 2024 exhibitors were offering professional beauty products – professional cosmetics, devices, tools and equipment. Many companies chose Baltic Beauty for presenting their new brands, products and services, and gave a chance to test them, as well.

Diverse professional events
Three-day Baltic Beauty 2024 was packed with unprecedented variety of events for professionals and visitors alike. More than 40 professional competitions with over 500 participants in total, from Latvia and other countries, six conferences, more than 11 workshops, masterclasses and discussions about beauty industry that anyone could attend were offered during Baltic Beauty in 2024.

Informative conferences
Conferences on current industry trends with presentations and experience sharing from practicing professionals, international and local experts. Latvian Association of Beauticians and Cosmetologists offered conference “New technologies in modern aesthetic cosmetics: beauty industry applications”. Latvian Medical Association and its conference “Beautiful at all ages: do’s and don’ts” promoted awareness about the effects of alcohol and nutrition on skin, how sleep can affect beauty and well-being in the long run, significance of vitamin C in various processes associated with metabolism, and also microbiome and aging. Baltic Beauty also hosted “Baltic Lash & Brow Conference” for lash and brow artists, organised by “Tuča”. There was also image studio-school Unastyle international conference “Wedding style” with several shows during which artists from Latvia, Germany and Israel demonstrated how they approach bride’s hairstyling and makeup.

The first ever “Baltic Barber conference. Inside Barbershop” was one of the two new events at Baltic Beauty. Latvian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian and German barbers shared their thoughts about other services barbers can offer, how to market yourself, why upskilling is key for becoming a successful professional, why ambassadors are vital for the modern businesses and many other exciting topics. The other one – Colouring conference for hairdressers – had experienced colouring experts sharing with audience their deepest insights into how to tackle challenging colouring tasks and formulas, as well as discussing how to choose professional dyes and other interesting themes.

Exciting competitions
Both young talented artists and seasoned veterans matched up for professional competitions to showcase their skills, agility and unique vision. XXV International Hairstyling Festival – one of the prominent hairstyling competitions – reached its 30th milestone in 2024. Hairstyling competitions saw individual artists from Lithuania, Estonia and Ukraine competing for titles, whereas teams from Baltic hairstyling schools demonstrated their prowess and fashion sense to create modern haircuts, colour patterns and hairdos, exquisite women’s wedding hairstyles and fantasy hairstyles to win the team competition. The second ever Baltic Best Barber championship reached international status in 2024, and was very well received by both visitors and professionals.

Makeup artists and hairstylists made themselves really stand out and gave lots of pleasure to the audiences during all three competitions. Creative Makeup competition saw contestants create unorthodox styles, whereas participants of Red Carpet competition, which was held for the first time ever, were given a task of creating a contemporary makeup and hair arrangement for their models. Full Fashion Look competition required competitors to come up with full look for the model, head to toe. All three competitions were organised by Unastyle Image School & Studio.

Baltic PMU championship, organised by International Association of Eyelash and Eyebrow Artists, returned to Ķīpsala Expo Centre after a ten year absence. “Tuča” also had competition for lash and brow artists – Baltic Lash & Brow Championship. But the fiercest rivalry was recorded at the Latvian Global Beauty Cups 2024 competition – almost 200 nail artists from 40 countries and 17 teams tried to reach the top spot.

Discussions about beauty
The second discussion organised by Latvian Association of Beauticians and Cosmetologists during the Baltic Beauty “How current beauty fads can lead to future health problems” turned into exciting and valuable debate during which industry professionals shared their experience and insights into how to choose the right beautician and services, as well as answering audience questions about these topics.

Baltic Beauty is organised by BT 1 International Expo Company and Latvian Association of Beauticians and Cosmetologists (World of Hair Cosmetics), Latvian Medical Association, Latvian Spa & Wellness Federation, International Association of Eyelash and Eyebrow Artists , Unastyle Image School & Studio, Tatjana Kivi and Global Beauty Cups.
