Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences will showcase 17 study programs in a friendly and sustainable environment

At the "School 2024" exhibition on 23rd – 25th February, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) will present climate conscious study opportunities, emphasising an environmentally friendly study environment and principles of sustainability.

Visiting ViA during the exhibition, those interested will have the opportunity not only to meet students, but also faculty staff, as well as "plant" the right seeds for their knowledge and career at Vidzeme University. Using the new digital game by ViA, visitors will have the opportunity to determine which seeds or study direction will be the most fruitful. Potential applicants can plant their seeds in the soil right there at the ViA booth or do it afterwards at home. ViA’s stand will be made of reusable materials, thus demonstrating ViA’s approach to sustainable and resource-responsible use. Also, at the ViA stand, anyone will be able to fill up their water bottle at a specially designed water filling station.

The new ViA website will also be presented during the exhibition.

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) offers 17 study programs in six directions:
- business administration
- information technology
- communication, media and governance
- mechatronics
- travel and leisure
- construction

Together with ViA, it is possible to build long-term educational relations, as it is possible to study from a bachelor’s degree all the way up to doctoral studies.

While studying at ViA, students can gain various experiences – academic, professional and international. Studies at Vidzeme University are very practical, aided by six laboratories available to students of both the Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Engineering. It is also possible to participate in scientific work, conducting research together with university staff, and to use the opportunities offered by the E³UDRES² and Erasmus+, to go on exchange studies or internships. Last year, the Faculty of Social Sciences was accredited for a new study direction in "Hotel and restaurant service, tourism and recreation organisation" and its corresponding bachelor’s and master’s study programs. The Faculty of Engineering has also accredited the study direction "Information technology, computer engineering, electronics, telecommunications, computer management and computer science" for six years, which includes a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral study program.
