“Svaigas sēnes” will feature locally-grown oyster mushrooms of various colours and species


Real Latvians have always appreciated mushrooms. We even have mushroom-picking championships! However, those who love sophisticated recipes have always leaned towards oyster mushrooms. It is now possible to buy and taste oyster mushrooms of various colours and species also in Latvia. Come to Riga Food 2024 Innovation Booth to find out more about Fresh mushrooms (“Svaigas sēnes”) brand or Dzērve family behind the brand that offers oyster mushrooms grown in Vangaži.

Oyster mushrooms are healthy, tasty, nutritious and colourful. You can use them as meat substitute when making a soup, gravy, salad and hot sandwiches. “Oyster mushrooms are rich in vitamin B. They contain plenty of Selenium, iron, Calcium and Phosphorus, fibre and antioxidants. There is also some protein. Oyster mushrooms are good for our immune system and digestion,” Nauris Dzērve, owner of “Svaigas sēnes” (Fresh mushrooms), claims.
