Riga Food 2024, the largest Baltic food industry trade fair, will bring you on an exciting food journey on 5–7 September, offering an opportunity to experience beverages, sweets, vegan, functional and organic foods from different countries. In addition to international and local company booths, Riga Food will operate innovation stage, various informative events for professionals exciting shows for foodies.
Most recent innovations, technologies and presentations of newest food product, beverage manufacturing and processing technologies from 425 exhibiting companies from 32 countries. Visitors of Riga Food 2024 will have a unique opportunity to experience 12 national booths with companies from Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Mexico, Moldova, Italy, Canada, Slovakia, Spain and Ukraine.

This year’s Latvian national stand will present sweets, spices, eggs and egg products, canned products, dairy products, jams and many other tasty treats from 15 local producers, such as Balticovo, Jaunpils pienotava, Snack and More, Perfecto, Premium Chocolate, Kronis, Rāmkalni Nordeco, Valežs and Very Berry. Wide variety of baked goods from Latvia will be offered by members of the Latvian Bakers Association: Dona, Lāči, Liepkalni, N. Bomis Lielezers bakery, Puratos Latvia (Pūre brand) and Lanordija of Orkla Group.
Food industry innovations
Riga Food is the right place if you are looking for cutting-edge innovations in food industry. Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian innovation booths are a perfect place to experience the newest products, technologies and innovative solutions developed by companies and scientists. Everyone who is interested will be offered an opportunity to taste sauerkraut chips and pickle lemonade, decaffeinated acorn and dandelion coffee, buckwheat crackers, pumpkin seed chocolate, gluten-free vegan dumplings and even environmentally-friendly bran pottery. Each region of Latvia has its unique story to tell. Diverse culinary heritage and gourmet products from all Latvian regions will be available at the Riga Food – all in one place. Regional flavours will proudly showcase products and culinary heritage, which you will also be able to buy, from Iluta Straģe, Dženeta Marinska, Ilze Kupča, Alise Zariņa, Laila Puķīte, Salacas KUR, Augu, Ādažu medus, Lības, Ibsēni, APP "Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics" and Adzelvieši farm. Moreover, Farmstead is the section where anyone will be able to taste and buy many other tasty treats from home producers. Haggling is allowed! Come, get to know and experience these products!
From cake competition to discussion on alternative sources of protein
In 2024 Riga Food will bring the biggest programme of events in its history, pleasing both the professionals and foodies alike. Three-day trade fair will be accompanied by almost 60 different events – competitions focusing of quality of food, master chef competitions, exciting discussions, informative workshops, presentations and tasting of various products. Innovation craze
Series of discussions on current trends with rather provocative name Innovation Craze will happen on the Main Stage of Riga Food during all three days of the trade fair. During these discussions various food industry experts will openly talk about various problems, shortcomings and much-needed improvements. On 5 September, everyone who is interested will be offered to get acquainted with modern nutrition labelling testing techniques, discuss gluten-free foods, environmental and social challenges faced by food industry. On 6 September, Riga Food will host a panel discussion on packaging and sustainability, alternative sources of protein, and food waste and forgotten foods will be the topic of events taking place on 7 September. Best of Baltic flavours
The Baltic Taste Award 2024, which will take place on 5 September at the Ķīpsala Expo Centre, will be the second competition of this kind in the history of Riga Food. International jury will try to establish, which are the best products from Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian manufacturers. Visitors will also have a unique chance to see how competitions of this kind take place and how professional jury makes its decisions. Moreover, all products entered in the competition will also be put on display in the foyer of Ķīpsala Exhibition Centre from 6th to 7th of September. Cocktail, waiter and cake baking competitions
Cocktail competition Monin Cup Latvia 2024 will take place on the Gemoss stage on the first day of trade fair for everyone’s delight. This year’s theme is “LOW is MORE”. Talented mixologists will create alternative, innovative and unforgettable versions of various cocktails and will try to bring drink mixing skills to a new level, following to current worldwide The no- and low-ABV trend. Latvian Star Server 2024 for servers will take place at the Ķīpsala International Expo Centre on 6 September. The aim of this competition is to celebrate the best servers in the industry, and thus promote the quality of their services. On 7 September, Gemoss stage will delight visitors with everyone’s favourite cake competition “Generational legacy” with local pastry chefs from all over Latvia competing for this prestigious title.
Competitions for chefs, apprentice chefs and pastry chefs
The most talented and courageous chefs from all over Latvia will traditionally meet at the Riga Food to showcase their cooking skills and compete for the title of Best Latvian Chef 2024 and Best Latvian Apprentice Chef 2024. The best chef will bring home the Reaton Golden Ladle ‘challenge cup’. This year’s competition slogan is sustainable kitchen or zero-waste kitchen.
On 6 September, Riga Food will host the first-ever confectionary and pastry competition ‘Best Latvian Restaurant Pastry Chef’ to promote the confectionary and pastry industry. Best confectionary and pastry chefs from all over Latvia will compete for Lavazza Golden Cup. Each competitor will present two desserts during competition, which will take place at the Ķīpsala Expo Centre.
Zero Waste Challenge 2024 is another competition of Riga Food 2024. Baltic vocational school teams with up-and-coming chefs will compete not only for the tastiest dishes but also most economic dishes in terms of food waste and leftovers.
