Therapeutic qualities of nutrition

Did you know that appropriate nutrition can help a child on the Autistic spectrum or child suffering from attention and hyperactivity deficit, or learning difficulties? Appropriate nutrition is exactly what nutritionist Silvija Ābele, PhD specialises in. Silvija Ābele works with families raising children with special needs and also other families that are looking for answers on how to make their child healthier. She can help better understand the causes of health problems, teach how to take more responsibility over your health, and what to do to find physical and emotional comfort. On 9 March, nutritionist will give three lectures titled Nutrition for healthy development of infants and children, as well as offering individual consultations to parents of babies, children and adolescents who have made prior appointment.

Kristīne Lagzdiņa, project manager of Capital Clinic Riga, will provide further information and details about the three general check-up plans for kids from the Capital Clinic Riga (Concept Express, Before You Start School and Individual Health Check-Up for Your Child) to young parents during the lecture.

How to balance family life and professional growth

Balancing family life and professional growth is one of the biggest challenges for young parents. The fact that you have a child does not mean that your professional growth stops. It is rather a nice opportunity to reevaluate your priorities and rethink how you fulfil your professional ambitions. Moreover, both young parents are going through intense transition at this time, which makes it even more important for both parents to help each other. Rudīte Nīcgale, career and professional development coach, transformational breathing and breath awareness teacher, will offer her individual career consultation on 8 March to help you answer the crucial questions about your professional future. She will also offer two workshops on 8 March – Raising a kid without going into professional identity crisis and How to be ready when opportunity comes knocking? So, register and get your career advice!

Healthy shape of baby’s head

Early months are crucial for healthy and symmetrical development of baby’s head, and even a small correction can significantly change the infant’s head shape. For the past seven years, Milda Saklauskaite (Lithuania) has been helping parents understand and deal with positional head deformities in children, and during her consultation, she will safely and precisely measure infant’s head using craniometer to assess whether infant’s head is shaping normally or a correction is required. Milda Saklauskaite is the founder of HE Vector, official distributor of Mimos pillows (for prevention and correction) in Lithuania and Latvia, and will give parents practical advice on prevention and care, including best sleeping and play positions that will ensure healthy development of baby’s head. Measurements using craniometer are performed on babies until the age of 16 months. Practitioner will consult in English.

Postpartum fitness for slim waist and better health

How to get slim waist after childbirth, how to handle a child and avoid uncomfortable positions or unnecessary pressure on your back? These are just some of the questions that Santa Vula, certified pregnancy and postpartum fitness coach with 16-year experience and author of BORN home postpartum fitness programme, will answer on 8 March during her consultations.
