Happy children and satisfied parents: Kids Expo Riga 2025 festival ends on a high note
After two laughter and chatter-filled days for children, and intense days for participants, the children and parent’s festival Kids Expo Riga 2025 closed its doors of the Ķīpsala Expo Centre after a successful expo. Dense programme of festivities, new and custom-made children’s products and services, rescue service in the Safety Quarter and free consultations with excellent specialists allowed Ķīpsala Expo Centre to attract around 9 601 motivated visitor.
“The first Kids Expo Riga children and parent’s festival is a proof that families are very receptive and truly appreciate an opportunity to spend some quality time together enjoying entertaining activities, as well as learning valuable things and buying the necessary goods,” Aiva Borska, Director of Kids Expo Riga says.
Two days of fun
30 artists and groups gave special performances during the festival. Little visitors were most excited and interested in numerous Children’s Land activities with Mole, Flower Girl, the Frog and other creatures of the spring meadow. Appearance by children’s favourite TV series Tuta Things stars Tuta, the Fox and Fenecca became one of the highlights as Ķīpsala pavilion resonated with everyone’s beloved songs, fun activities and children’s laughter. Children were entertained by the pretty fairytale Fairy and her bubble show, famous magician Valdemārs Weiss, who used audience members during his tricks, and puppet show from Ilze’s dolls. Everyone was tapping and singing along the little performers and the cute baby crawling competition gave plenty of amusement to everyone spectating. Children engaged in myriad of fun activities at the Adventure Park where they could also jump on the inflatable bouncy houses of various shapes and sizes.
First ever in Ķīpsala
Another highlight was the Baby Fashion Show. It was the first ever event of such format at the festival/expo. Participants had to create their own costumes and overall design, whereas presentation on the catwalk was made by little models and even whole families. Participants of the fashion show competed for choice awards from Kids Expo Riga 2025 exhibitors like Tiny Bunny, Meistariņš and Pasaku Nams. Skitterworm performed his merry dance for the first time during the festival, and colourful Perfam music group actively involved audience in its performance.
Activities for the whole family
Young and grown-up ladies were keen to pose for a photo in a romantic vintage setting, whereas boys could take a photo of themselves standing next to robot transformer at the Super Party photo corner, which many used. Smilšu lampas tactile workshops, Meistariņš workshop area, wide LEGO workshop and EcoToycity wall mural workshop offered lots of fun time co-creating for children and their mums and dads.
Educating on safety
Safety Quarter offered a friendly environment where children could meet police officers, paramedics, fire fighters, electricians, gas emergency service workers who explained to them safety essentials through enticing games. Kids eagerly climbed into service cars of these agencies, tried on their special uniforms and tested their gear. Meanwhile parents were happy to refresh their first aid skills for infants and children under knowledgeable supervision of the Emergency Medical Service paramedics.
Specialist consultations
Kids Expo Riga 2025 festival provided four consultation rooms where specialists provided crucial information about maternal and child health and well-being. There were specialist consultations for mothers and young parents, couples and others, and many were happy about such an opportunity. Consultations were provided in cooperation with Capital Clinic Riga, certified post-partum fitness coach Santas Vula, doula, midwife and breastfeeding consultant Inga Babure, doula Kristīne Reikmane, career development and personal growth coach Rudīte Nīcgale, nutritionist Professor Silvija Ābele, certified midwife Karīna Karalkina and Milda Sakalauskaite (Lithuania).
Expo with numerous products and services
Mothers-to-be, young parents and other visitors of the trade fair had access to vast range of exhibitors and their products and services. There was an opportunity to test these products, compare prices and buy desired items. Altogether there were 72 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Kazakhstan, showcasing newest baby prams, car seats, furniture, clothing, sports and other children’s goods and products, hygiene products, brain games for the whole family, healthy foods and treats, as well as affiliated services.
