Riga Christmas Gala offers a wonderful musical experience

On 25 and 26 December, Kipsala Halls presents Riga Christmas Gala “Christmas Stars” with participation of popular singers, choirs and a symphonic band. The programme includes the pieces of popular classical music and favourite songs of all times that will bring so much enjoyment and delight to the audience!

The programme includes popular classical pieces: a Gioachino Rossini’s incandescent Overture to “William Tell”, the pearls of classical music like Giulio Caccini’s “Ave Maria”, César Franck’s “Panis angelicus”, Georg Frideric Handel’s “Hallelujah” and many others. Along with classical pieces, popular music – nice Christmas melodies will be performed, among them – “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, “White Christmas”, “Let it Snow!” and many other.

Riga Christmas Gala will be starring Annija Putniņa, a TV show and Eurovision Song Contest star, Marts Kristiāns Kalniņš, a vocal of a legendary Latvian band “Autobuss debesīs”, Ingus Pētersons a legend of Latvian pop and classical music, as well as new and bright stars of Latvian music – the vocal group “Framest” that have performed with such world-class top musicians as Peter Eldridge and Matt Aranoff from the US.

The laureates of international choir competitions “Sonore” and “Austrums”, the Professional Symphonic Band “Rīga” conducted by Mārtiņš Ozoliņš and Andris Ūze, a recognized sound director in the Baltic countries and across Europe, will add more power to overall sounding.

The first part of a concert will present a masterful blend of Mary Mapes-Dodge’s novel “Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates” and great music will tell an emotionally saturated and touching story about the lovely Dutch girl Gretel and her honest brother Hans bringing audience to the 19th century Holland. The second part will show Christmas celebrations in Riga today.

The concert will begin at 17.00 on December 25 and 13.00 on December 26.
