Latvian folk dance concert „On the Way to the Dance Festival” in Kipsala

On June 16 at 18:00, Latvian folk costumes and dance patterns by one of the best and most popular Latvian folk dance groups “Teiksma” will shine in all their glory in the concert “On the Way to the Dance Festival” in Ķīpsala Hall.

Latvian folk dance is one of the foundation stones of Latvian cultural heritage and a modern form of stage art that materializes in wonderful stage projects and has been highly assessed and greatly recognized by spectators world over.

Children’s dance group “Teiksmiņa”, the folk dance group “Teiksma”, its groups of youth and middle-aged dancers – almost 300 dancers of all generations will join in this concert. The concert director – Jānis Erglis, a choreographer and art director of “Teiksma”.

The concert is based on Latvian stage dance; choreography, music and costumes come from Latvian folklore. The concert will include dances from the repertoire of the next Dance Festival as well as dances that simply are dear to the dancers and spectators.

Dancers taking part in the concert can boast enviable experience, concert performances in Latvia and abroad and great affection from the audience.
