Children’s World is coming to Ķīpsala this week. Be sure to make plans for it!
A diverse range of products for babies, older children, and expectant parents; an orienteering game for all members of your family; rescue vehicles in the Safety Quarter, creative workshops, many on-stage song and dance performances, and good fun with Tuta, Lapsa, and Feneks. Parents will enjoy an opportunity to get a free consultation with a psychologist, physiotherapist, phlebologist, or other specialist. All of this will come this week, on 6-8 May, at the 2022 Children’s World fair in Ķīpsala!
All you need, in one place
Livaka, TRU:DE, Hebe, Ratu birojs, Brillante, Babystore, Pūks, NordBaby, Woom, Tiny Bunny, Sportland, Brain Games, Domotex, EcoEmi, Lat Eko Food, MimiKid, and WIVI are just some of the fair’s participants. The companies will bring prams and child seats, beds and mattresses, clothing, toys and games, nappies and other hygiene products, baby food, all the products that expectant mums need, and many other things for babies and older children.
Purchase No. 1 – a pram
The fair will offer different brands of baby vehicles and their sets for parents to check out and compare. Some will prefer the compact and convenient ABC Design all-terrain carriages, while others will fall in love with the elegant and exclusive AMG and Avantgarde prams created by Hartan and Mercedes, and there certainly will be parents looking for a carry-on-bag-sized stroller like Carbebe Guapa, to enjoy carefree travel in summer! Many other well-known and reliable baby vehicle brands such as Cybex, Joie, NordBaby, Nuna, Graco, Bebecar, Tako, Tutis, Junama, and Hesba will also present their products.
Rescuers and child safety
Regular guests of Children’s World already know and love the fair’s Safety Quarter (‘Drošības kvartāls’) where children and parents can meet the hero police officers and firefighters, in real life! The visitors will get to play firefighter bowling and other games, and prepare family safety plans, with Guntiņš, the fireman lynx. The officers of the Riga Municipal Police will offer children a glimpse into their work, and let them into a police patrol van, jeep, boat, and get on a police quad.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health will use the fair to begin its campaign ‘Pārvērt pārdrošību par drošību!’ (‘Turn overconfidence into safety!’), telling parents about risks of injury and about how to prevent them. Every visitor of Children’s World will be able to join the ‘Bērnam droša māja’ (‘Child-safe home’) mobile workshop. It will present practical examples of various rooms to demonstrate what a child-safe home is like, and how to prepare one for a child under three years of age. Parents will be asked to look at rooms from the viewpoint of their child, and discover the safety mistakes they make, creating risks. This will be an interesting and informative adventure for children and their parents!
Consultations by various specialists
Parents of young children, expectant mothers, and everyone else is invited to the ‘Rūpēs par garīgo un fizisko veselību’ (‘Taking care of your mental and physical health’) consultation station, to get a free consult with various specialists. As part of a collaboration with Arbor Medical Korporācija, phlebologist Vladislavs Semeņuks will provide advice on the health of your viens on Friday, 6 May, while for the entirety of Saturday, certified physiotherapists from Capital Clinic Riga will share knowledge about physiotherapy for babies, women during pregnancy and after birth, as well as pelvic health and various problems that women specifically face in relation to it after pregnancy. Specialists from the Love Home relationship and personal growth centre, including a psychologist, a biodanza teacher, an astrologer, and a numerologist, will offer spiritual and physical health consultations, as well as numerology sessions for children and parents throughout all three days of the event. To book a consultation, send a message to +371 29416645 (text or WhatsApp). Please mention the topic ‘Consultations’ at the beginning of your message.
Appearances by Tuta, Lapsa and Feneks
Tuta, the fun and loveable protagonist of the endearing and educational children’s show ‘Tutas lietas’ (‘Tuta’s Stuff’), will appear on the main stage of the fair on its first and second day (6 and 7 May), at 15:00! With her friends Lapsa and Feneks, she will invite children to play, dance, and joke around together for an entire hour. This will be an excellent opportunity for all of the fair’s little guests to meet the protagonist of their favourite show in real life!
On-stage programme: full of fun
In addition to Tuta and her friends, for three days the stage will host many talented young performers from Latvia’s different cities: the Agnese Šīrante Child Entertainer Studio, Dzirnas Dance School, Teiksmiņa dance group, ‘Tev un man’ Vocal Studio, ‘Križevic band’ family group, Namiņa pop group from Mārupe, Rakari children’s pop group, and many others. Performances worthy of a festival, every day of the fair!
Orienteering for every member of your family
And that’s not all! This year’s fair will for the first time host a Mother’s Day-themed orienteering game run by the Jampadracis BB event agency! It will be a fun and entertaining orienteering and puzzle game for the entire family, as well as serving as a tour of the fair. There will be checkpoints throughout the exhibition centre, with all sorts of tasks for younger and older children, as well as their parents – everyone will be welcome to join and have a good time!
