LEADING TRADE FAIR ORGANISER IN THE BALTIC STATES

Kipsala offered great entertainment for both children and parents

Last weekend in Kipsala, 4-6 April, was exceptionally busy and eventful. Children and their parents were offered to visit the biggest exhibition of goods and services for children in Latvia "Children’s World 2014" and the most exciting event for families "Who's there? It's me! In Kipsala".

"Last year I was here with my daughters, but this year we are present in larger numbers - four families from Rundāle and we are all excited. We have been here for more than four hours already and I would love to stay longer, but my little one is falling off her feet. We spent most of the time with the help services where the children could examine, touch and explore the exposition and find out many new things. My first grade pupil now has a totally different understanding of safety! We also decorated fridge magnets, made our first candle, got a beautiful face painting, created wonderful bracelets, had fun with inflatable attractions... My nephew was busy running back and forth between the Copper Workshop and car tracks and my girls had a photo with Lupe and made beautiful beaded necklaces! The children are delighted and this event is definitely going to become a tradition for our family", says Līga, the mother of Anete and Sabīne when talking about Saturday's event.

A total of 17 316 visitors enjoyed the special feeling of the three-day long family celebrations in Kipsala.

Vast exposition of goods at exhibition prices
The exhibition "Children’s World 2014" offered current and expecting parents the possibility to purchase a variety of goods with discounts, such as baby clothes and footwear, hygiene items, baby food, health, musical and developmental products, radio-controlled and entertaining toys, sports items, playpens, nursery furniture, baby carriages, car seats and many other items. Expectant mothers could also provide themselves with special clothes, cosmetics and hygiene items.

The small children could take a ride on a baby scooter made of wood and manufactured in Latvia in the "Dip Dap" stand and the others could try a scooter with a chain mechanism in the "Space Scooter" stand. The "Gigi Bloks" exposition offered the children to play with Gigi toy blocks and to construct a house or to make an animal. The play store "Ludo" offered unprecedented discounts of up to 50 % and attracted a lot of visitors' attention.

The shop "Mārīte" offered a choice of TAKO baby carriages. The latest collections and especially the Riga theme design collection attracted a lot of interest. This stand offered baby carriages for every taste!

"Troll Sigulda", "Suwem", "Baby Love" and other manufacturers offered baby beds for a good night’s sleep and other nursery furniture. The parents could study the offer and make an order or purchase the furniture on the spot.

Mothers of baby girls were busy choosing beautiful and high quality dresses and other clothes for their little princesses at the children’s fashion brand "Mimimi", "Eco Emi", "Petra" and "Glam Collection" stands. Little gourmets were treated with Rūdolfs Mom's Delicious Purees that are made in Latvia, "German Products Baltics" purees Hamanek and the Latvian products - Choco Chocolate and the tasty ice-cream Skrīveru mājas saldējums.

Exciting and educating adventures with the characters of "Who's there? It's me! In Kipsala"
The exhibition also offered many exciting, sporty, educating and heart-warming activities for children and their parents. The popular TV characters – Lupe, Varis, Konstantīns and Pukšs, as well as different organisations – initiative centres, activity studios, hobby groups, sports schools, museums and clubs invited children to participate in various activities. The children were offered many adventures! The children participated in several Rīga International Meridian School (RIMS) and Riga Technical University (RTU) research experiments – coloured milk, created a smoke cloud, played with lava lamps, electric fishing-rods, pH indicators, etc. The exhibition also organised art and handicraft workshops and master classes for making candles, necklaces, bracelets, crowns, toy planes, magnets and origami models. The children were also engaged in colouring suns in "Saules muzejs", drawing and pasting with "Rimonne Rīga" and making wattles of reeds in the RIMS stand.

Boys were especially thrilled by the activities organised by "MyKid" and "LEGO Education" – children were invited to participate in robotics classes and make Lego robots that were later programmed and tested in motion. It was so exciting!

Besides the artistic manifestations the exhibition also offered sports activities. The children and their parents could participate in radio controlled car racing competitions, fly hand operated glider planes, play table-tennis, speedminton, take part in B-Daman competitions and try wall climbing! Children loved taking part in agility exercises and demonstrating their skills and creative spirit.

Over 150 companies participated at the exhibition by offering their products and organising different activities.

Rescue service 112 and its equipment
Children and especially boys loved the stand of the rescue services and the possibility to climb the cabin of the firefighting, police and ambulance car, grab the motorcycle wheel, steer the rescue boat, meet the rescuers, examine their outfits and equipment and play games.

Children learned how to protect themselves and their loved ones in dangerous situations by taking part in exciting activities. They also found out the safe way of using domestic electric appliances and were advised about safety on the street and outside the house. The rescuers also demonstrated how to provide first aid, explained how to call the rescue services and when it is required to do so. The children themselves could also try to reanimate the dummy Anniņa.

The children were also invited to the Friendly Teeth Bus to meet the dentist, learn how to care about and correctly brush teeth, find out that sweets are bad for dental health and have their teeth checked. The little brave hearts also received small presents!
