Europe’s best CrossFittters for the 6th year compete in Kipsala
120 of Europe’s best CrossFit athletes from 16 countries, including the best CrossFitters of Latvia, will be taking part in the “Battle of Riga 2019” functional fitness tournament, that will include the elements of several sports and training disciplines, to be held at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in mid-July.
To qualify for the major Baltic Functional Fitness Event Finals to be held from 13–14 July, all athletes had to pass the individual qualifying round that gathered around 500 participants. In Riga we will see 120 best athletes, including 10 specially invited guests – the European TOP CrossFit athletes.
Watching the competition will be exciting for both the most ardent CrossFit fans and first-time viewers, as functional fitness is dynamic and visually enjoyable – athletes compete in diverse and attractive disciplines that include both weightlifting and the elements of Olympic gymnastics, overcoming various obstacles and endurance tests in multiple combinations. In this kind of competition, athletes often find out about the tasks to complete only on the day of the competition, which makes them to adapt to yet unknown challenges in quite a short time. This year again, the organizers of the competition promise unprecedented and eye-catching challenges.
In the final competition, athletes will compete in six categories – sports and elite female and male athletes, and separate groups for 35 and 40 years old male athletes respectively. With a large number of leading European athletes participating, the competition of the elite female athletes promises to be particularly attractive. The total elite competition prize pool is € 6500.
To make the competition even more interesting, the spectators will have an opportunity to watch attractive guest performances, shows and join in exciting prize contests held by the competition sponsors. Apart from that, there will be a fitness-related goods exhibition "Functional Fitness Expo" open to both visitors and participants.
