A record-high number of designers are going to present new collections that have won global renown in Ķīpsala
Very soon – from 18–20 October – the exhibitions Design Isle 2019 and Baltic Furniture 2019 held in Ķīpsala will bring together an unprecedented number of exhibitors: more than 300 designers and companies, ready to inspire visitors with the latest furniture and design collections of at least 50 brands.
“Throughout the furniture and design days in Ķīpsala you will be able to find, choose and order high-quality design items at very good prices. You won’t find such furniture and design brands in a supermarket! Moreover, this year’s design exhibition will delight the visitors not only with a record-high number of participants, offering an immense number of new items, but also with an unprecedented atmosphere! Come, enjoy and be inspired!” says the Design Isle project manager Mārtiņš Baltmanis.
Charred wooden plank collection
Do you know what Shou Sugi Ban is? It is a traditional, at least 1700 year-old Japanese method of wood treatment; the wood is charred and preserved, making it fire, pest and decay resistant. The local producer Kotumaki is the leading producer of charred wooden planks in Northern Europe; during Design Isle 2019, Kotumaki will offer charred finishes and design accessories – clocks.
Exclusive wooden sinks
Aesthetic, flowing forms, a unique combination of materials and details, high quality and functionality – the characteristics of Qinn Design exclusive solid wood design sinks! Each Design Isle 2019 visitor will be able to have a look at the innovative product and get to know it, as well as appreciate the design nuances of the sink, crafted by the company’s skilled professionals. The Damascus stainless steel buttons add a unique touch to the sinks.
Customisable bathroom products
The local producer PAA prides itself on its wide range of products and especially the concept of “made-to-measure”, which it will demonstrate during the furniture and design days in Ķīpsala. This concept allows one to customise baths, sinks and shower trays according to the specifics of each room and the fantasy of the owner. PAA products are made from a modern successor of marble: a durable, hard stone with a matte, silky surface.
The longest dining table
Ķīpsala has been chosen as the place for the unveiling of the biggest dining table made from a single slab of a venerable oak so far, reaching seven metres! It can host a meal for 30! Uniqueness and range are the defining characteristics of Narovski: any of their products easily become one of the most attractive features of a room.
Bedroom furniture premier
Since 1998, experience in bedroom furniture production has allowed Nakts mēbeles to take the leading position in the Latvian market and also gain recognition abroad. The company constantly puts out new items, and it has chosen Design Isle 2019 to showcase two new products: the design bedroom collection Sofija and a built-in wardrobe that the customer can order, specifying their requirements.
Modern cots
By participating in various distinguished exhibitions, the Latvian furniture brand Nordi Furniture has made a name for itself, not only in Latvia but also abroad. In Ķīpsala you will see the 2018 winner of the prestigious European Product Design, the KiDSON cot, as well as the latest addition: a pull-out bed.
Furniture in bold colour
The latest LETT soft furniture collection proves that you don’t have to shy away from daring colours, and creative challenges result in original design products! At the Design Isle 2019 exhibition, sofas in the atypical colour of brilliant green, will be on display. The skilled craftsmen of the company will bring each and every vision a customer might have to life!
Functional tables for the dining room
Wenden Furniture table and chair craftsmen will demonstrate more than 30 dining room sets and showcase the functionality of various tables at the exhibition. The company’s production is made of sustainable materials, and the professional skills honed over several decades have allowed Wenden Furniture to gain success in both Latvia and far abroad.
